Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 23/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough will remain over northeast New South Wales through the weekend as a high pressure system moves across southern districts to the Tasman Sea. This high will direct increasingly warm and humid air over New South Wales, and prevent passing cold fronts from penetrating far north into the state. The high is forecast to weaken a little early in the new week, allowing a trough to move through southern and central districts, creating unsettled conditions.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast, extending to the central ranges in the afternoon. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Warm to hot day in the west. Light and variable winds inland. Freshening north to northeasterly winds near the coast.Sunday 25 NovemberIsolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the northeast, extending to parts of the central and southern ranges in the afternoon. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Hot to very hot day. North to northeasterly winds near the coast, with a late southerly change in the south. Light and variable winds inland.Monday 26 NovemberThe chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the northeast, and showers developing across the southeast later. Fine although hot elsewhere. Northeast to northwesterly winds, before a southerly change in the south.Tuesday 27 NovemberShowers in the eastern half, mainly about the coast and ranges, with isolated afternoon thunderstorms. Fine and warm to hot in the west. Northerly winds in the north. Southerly winds in the south.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Saturday.Product IDN10031
