Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 22/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high 1022 hPa in the Tasman Sea extends a ridge of high pressure across Bass Strait. A trough of low pressure will reach Eucla around midnight and extend over the west and south of the State during Saturday. The trough will weaken and move southwards on Sunday morning, before surging northeastwards across the west and south again during Sunday afternoon and evening.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated thundery showers developing in the far west. Warm to hot, grading to very hot in the far north. Light to moderate northeasterly winds, tending moderate to fresh northerly in the west ahead of a southerly change near the far west coast around midnight.Saturday 24 NovemberAreas of cloud but remaining fine apart from possible isolated thundery showers in the far northwest. Hot in the south, very hot in the north with moderate northerly winds ahead of a moderate to fresh southerly developing about coastal districts.Sunday 25 NovemberAreas of high cloud with possible isolated showers west of about Coober Pedy to Kingscote. Isolated showers with possible thunder west of about Ceduna. Hot in the south, very hot in the north. Moderate southeast to northeast winds, turning moderate to fresh northerly inland. A fresh and gusty southerly change will develop about coastal districts during the afternoon then extend inland during the evening.Monday 26 NovemberCloudy with possible isolated thundery showers over the majority of the State, contracting northeastwards during the day. Mild to warm about coastal districts, remaining hot to very hot in the north. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds extending throughout. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday morning until midnight Monday are expected to be up to 2 mm, with local falls to 5 mm in thunderstorms.Tuesday until ThursdayFine apart from possible thundery showers in the far north and west. Warm to hot with light to moderate northeast to southeast winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Friday.Product IDS10033
