Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 22/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high (1022 hPa) to the south of Kangaroo Island will move east to be centred over the Tasman Sea on Friday. A trough of low pressure will move over far western coasts late Friday evening then extend to remaining coastal waters on Saturday. The trough will move inland on Sunday as a new high pressure system develops to the southwest of the Bight.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine apart from possible isolated showers in the far west. Mild to warm in the south, grading to hot in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds. Moderate to fresh coastal sea breezes.Friday 23 NovemberAreas of cloud extending from the west with possible light showers reaching a line from Coober Pedy to Port Lincoln. Possible thunder in the far west. Warm to hot, grading to very hot in the far north. Light to moderate northeasterly winds, tending northerly in the west ahead of a southerly change in the far west during the evening.Saturday 24 NovemberAreas of cloud but remaining fine apart from possible isolated thundery showers in the far northwest. Hot in the south, very hot in the north with moderate northerly winds ahead of a moderate to fresh southerly developing about coastal districts.Sunday 25 NovemberAreas of high cloud with possible showers west of about Coober Pedy to Kingscote. Isolated showers with possible thunder west of about Ceduna. Hot in the south, very hot in the north. Moderate southeast to northeast winds, turning moderate to fresh northerly inland. A fresh and gusty southerly change will develop about coastal districts during the afternoon then extend inland during the evening.Monday 26 NovemberCloudy with possible thundery showers over the majority of the State, contracting northeastwards during the day. Mild to warm about coastal districts, remaining hot to very hot in the north. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds extending throughout. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday morning until midnight Sunday are expected to be up to 2 mm, with local falls to 5 mm in thunderstorms.Tuesday until ThursdayFine apart from possible thundery showers in the far north and west. Warm to hot with light to moderate northeast to southeast winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Friday.Product IDS10033
