Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 21/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough extends from northwestern to southeastern New South Wales. The trough is moving northeast and it will stall over the far northeast during Thursday afternoon while a high pressure system moves towards Tasmania gradually extending a ridge to the north coast. The high will move over the southwestern Tasman Sea by Friday and then it will move east maintaining the ridge to north coast. The next trough is expected to develop over the western parts of the state on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms on the south coast and adjacent ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Light winds in the northeast. Northwest to northeasterly winds elsewhere ahead a south to southwesterly change west and southeast, gusty near the coast.Thursday 22 NovemberIsolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Cool southwest to southeast winds extending throughout.Fire Danger -  Very High in Northern Slopes and in the Northwestern.Friday 23 NovemberIsolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast winds.Saturday 24 NovemberIsolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Partly cloudy remainder. Hot day in the west. Variable winds inland. Freshening northeast winds near the coast.Sunday 25 NovemberIsolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the northeast and in the far southeast. Partly cloudy remainder.
