MELBOURNE - Nov 20/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front crossing the State will clear northeast Victoria this afternoon. A high pressure system will form in the Bight later today and then will move slowly eastwards across southern Victoria on Thursday. The high will lie to the east of Victoria on Friday and Saturday. A weak low pressure trough will move into western Victoria during Saturday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayWarm at first in the north and east with moderate to fresh northerly winds, but a cooler southwesterly change extending eastwards this morning, reaching the northeast this afternoon. Isolated showers possible in southern and mountain areas with the chance of isolated thunderstorms in the east.Fire Danger - Moderate to High reaching Very HighThursday 22 NovemberIsolated showers near the coast, otherwise fine. Mild and partly cloudy in the south, warm and sunny in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southerly winds.Friday 23 NovemberFine after early fog patches in the south.
