MELBOURNE - Nov 20/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front will reach southwestern Victoria tonight, before moving across the remainder of the State on Wednesday. A high pressure system will form in the Bight later Wednesday and then will move slowly eastwards across southern Victoria on Thursday. The high will lie to the east of Victoria on Friday and Saturday. A weak low pressure trough will move into western Victoria during Saturday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine apart from the chance of isolated thundery showers in the far west. Moderate to fresh northerly winds over central and western districts, but lighter winds in the east with seabreezes along the Gippsland coast. A cooler southwesterly change reaching the far southwest tonight.Wednesday 21 NovemberWarm at first in the north and east with moderate to fresh northerly winds. A cooler southwesterly change in the west during the morning extending to eastern areas in the late morning and afternoon. Isolated showers possible in southern and mountain areas with the chance of isolated thunderstorms in the southeast.Fire Danger - Moderate to High reaching Very HighThursday 22 NovemberIsolated showers near the coast, otherwise fine.
