MELBOURNE - Nov 20/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough of low pressure over western coasts is expected to reach a line Adelaide to Whyalla early Tuesday evening and Yunta to Oodnadatta early Wednesday morning and then weaken. A high will ridge in south of the Bight late Wednesday and move east to be centred over Bass Strait on Friday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPossible isolated thundery showers in a band extending from the northwest to the southeast of the State. Hot with fresh and gusty north to northwest winds, ahead of a cooler moderate to fresh southwesterly change over western and south central coasts extending to a line near Renmark to Ernabella around midnight. Areas of raised dust in the west.Wednesday 21 NovemberPossible isolated morning showers about the west coast and southern agricultural area. Possible isolated thundery showers over the northeast of the agricultural area and Northwest Pastoral, contracting to the far northwest during the day. Mild in the south, grading to very hot in the northeast. Light to moderate northeast winds in the northeast ahead of a moderate to fresh southerly change extending throughout during the day.Thursday 22 NovemberFine apart from possible isolated thundery showers in the far west. Mild to warm in the south, grading to hot in the north. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds. Moderate to fresh coastal sea breezes.Friday 23 NovemberFine apart from possible isolated thundery showers in the far west. Warm to hot with light to moderate easterly winds, tending northerly in the west ahead of a southerly change in the far west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday through to midnight Friday are expected to be up to 2 mm, mostly occurring during today. Isolated falls of 2 to 10 mm with thunderstorms.Saturday 24 NovemberFine apart from possible isolated thundery showers in the far west and possible isolated showers over the remainder of the west. Very warm to hot with moderate northerly winds ahead of a milder fresh southerly change across the south. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday afternoon until midnight Saturday are expected to be up to 2 mm, with local falls to 5 mm in thunderstorms.Sunday until TuesdayPossible isolated thundery showers in the west on Sunday.
