MELBOURNE - Nov 19/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system east of Tasmania will continue to drift eastwards. A cold front will reach southwestern Victoria Tuesday night, before moving across the remainder of the State on Wednesday. Another high pressure system will form in the Bight later Wednesday, moving slowly eastwards across southern Victoria on Thursday. The high will lie to the east of Victoria on Friday. Forecast for the rest of MondayFine apart from isolated showers in East Gippsland. Light to moderate east to southeast winds, fresh near the coast.Tuesday 20 NovemberFine apart from morning fog patches in Gippsland. A warm and mostly sunny day. Light to moderate northerly winds freshening in the west during the afternoon before tending cooler southwesterly in the far southwest at night. Milder near the Gippsland coast with afternoon seabreezes developing.Fire Danger - Generally High to Very High in the west. Generally Low to Moderate in the east.Wednesday 21 NovemberWarm at first in the north and east with moderate to fresh northerly winds. A cooler southwesterly change in the west during the morning extending to eastern areas in the late morning and afternoon. Isolated showers possible in southern and mountain areas with the chance of isolated thunderstorms in the southeast.Thursday 22 NovemberIsolated showers, mainly near the coast, during the morning, otherwise fine. Mild and partly cloudy in the south, warm and sunny in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southerly winds.Friday 23 NovemberFine.
