Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 18/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
An intense low pressure system just east of Gabo Island will move away up the New South Wales south coast during Monday, as a high pressure system moves slowly eastwards across Tasmania to reach the Tasman Sea by Tuesday. The next cold front will reach southwestern Victoria Tuesday night, before moving across the remainder of the State on Wednesday. A high pressure system will form in the Bight later Wednesday, moving slowly eastwards across southern Victoria on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayMorning fog patches in the south. Rain over East Gippsland, easing to showers during the morning. Isolated showers elsewhere over Gippsland, contracting eastwards and clearing by the end of the day. Showers falling as snow on the ranges above 1800 metres this morning. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Mild to warm inland with light winds tending southeasterly. Cooler near the coast with east to southeast winds, strong at first about the East Gippsland coast and freshening elsewhere along the coast during the afternoon.Fire Danger -  Generally low to moderate.Tuesday 20 NovemberA warm and mostly sunny day with light to moderate northerly winds freshening in the west during the afternoon. Milder near the Gippsland coast with afternoon seabreezes developing.Wednesday 21 NovemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms extending eastwards, affecting mainly southern and mountain districts. Warm in the east. Moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a cooler, west to southwesterly change extending through western areas in the morning, reaching the east in the afternoon.Thursday 22 NovemberIsolated showers, mainly near the coast and clearing in the afternoon. Mild and partly cloudy in the south, warm and sunny in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southerly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Monday.Product IDV10310
