MELBOURNE - Nov 17/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high south of the Bight will move very slowly eastwards to be south of Mt Gambier this evening then over the Tasman Sea on Monday. A trough of low pressure will move across western and central parts of South Australia during Tuesday before moving into the far northeast on Wednesday. A new high will develop over the Bight on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayPossible isolated morning showers about southern coasts. Cool tot mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north and west. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds, turning east to northeasterly in the west during the day. Moderate to fresh coastal sea breezes.Monday 19 NovemberPossible isolated showers and thunderstorms developing in the far west from late afternoon. Warm in the south grading to hot to very hot in the north and west. Moderate southeast to northeast winds freshening in the west.Tuesday 20 NovemberPossible isolated showers and thunder extending across western and central districts, possibly reaching the eastern districts in the evening. Mild in the south grading to hot in the north with fresh to strong northerly winds ahead of a southwest to southeast change reaching central parts around early evening. Areas of raised dust in the west.Wednesday 21 NovemberPossible isolated showers and thunder contracting to the northeast and clearing by midday. Possible isolated showers about coastal areas, contracting to the southern coasts later in the day. Cooler, moderate southwest to southeasterly winds extending over the State during the day. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday until midnight Wednesday are expected to be up to 2 mm, mostly occurring on Tuesday and into Wednesday. Isolated falls of 2 to 10 mm with thunderstorms.Thursday until SaturdayPossible isolated showers clearing from the southern coasts by Thursday night. Fine on Friday and Saturday apart from possible isolated showers developing in the west late in the period.
