MELBOURNE - Nov 16/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front in the Tasman Sea extends a trough through the far northeast parts of the coast. A second trough lies through inland New South Wales, with a weakening upper trough aloft. This second trough is expected to move slowly to the northeast of the state on Saturday. A high pressure system lies to the south of the Bight, and will extend a ridge into western parts of the state on Sunday while the troughs in the northeast combine and deepen. A low pressure system is expected to develop off the coast by Monday within this trough and may deepen on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayRain or drizzle patches in the north and east at first, contracting to the far north coast and eastern ranges during the day and easing to scattered showers. Isolated thunderstorms in the northern slopes through to the coast, tending scattered near Queensland border. Possible showers in the southeast. Fine remainder. South to southeast winds, fresh to strong about the northern coast.Sunday 18 NovemberIsolated showers about the coast and ranges, tending scattered in the northeast. Isolated thunderstorms about the northern ranges and southern coast. Fine elsewhere. Mostly southerly winds.Monday 19 NovemberIsolated showers about the coast and ranges. Fine elsewhere.
