Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 16/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front in the Tasman Sea extends a trough through northeast parts of the coast. A second trough lies through inland New South Wales, with an upper trough behind it. This second trough is expected to move slowly to the northeast of the state this evening and on Saturday. A high pressure system lies to the south of the Bight, and will extend a ridge into western parts of the state on Sunday while the troughs in the northeast combine and deepen. A low pressure system is expected to develop off the coast on Monday within this trough and may deepen on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayPatchy rain in the northern half of the state, more widespread and heavier through the Hunter, central ranges and north. Isolated thunderstorms in the northern half of the state, and possibly on the southern ranges. Northwest to northeast winds in the north, ahead of a southwest to southeast change.Saturday 17 NovemberRain or drizzle patches in the north and east at first, contracting to the far north coast and eastern ranges during the day and easing to scattered showers. Isolated thunderstorms in the northern slopes through to the coast. Isolated showers in the southeast clearing. Fine remainder. South to southeast winds, fresh to strong about the northern coast.Sunday 18 NovemberIsolated showers about the coast and ranges, tending scattered in the northeast. Isolated thunderstorms about the northern ranges and southern coast. Fine elsewhere. Mostly southerly winds.Monday 19 NovemberIsolated showers about the coast and ranges. Fine elsewhere. East to southeast winds.Tuesday 20 NovemberIsolated showers along the coast and eastern parts of the ranges. Fine elsewhere.
