Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 15/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
An upper level trough will clear northwest Victoria this morning. A high pressure system will remain south of the Bight today and Saturday. A cold front will move from the Southern Ocean towards southwestern Victoria late Saturday before drifting through Bass Strait on Sunday. The high will then pass to the south of Victoria Sunday night, reaching the Tasman Sea on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers on and south of the ranges contracting to the coast during the morning and mostly clearing during the afternoon. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms over the northwest clearing by midday. Cool and partly cloudy in the south, but milder north of the divide and becoming mostly sunny. Moderate south to southwesterly winds, fresh and gusty about the coast.Fire Danger -  High in the northSaturday 17 NovemberIsolated showers on and south of the divide, mainly during the morning. Fine and mostly sunny in the north. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southerly winds.Sunday 18 NovemberIsolated showers on and south of the divide, becoming more widespread over East Gippsland with isolated thunderstorms possible. Fine and mostly sunny in the north. Cool to mild with moderate south to southwesterly winds.Monday 19 NovemberIsolated showers in Gippsland clearing during the day. Fine elsewhere. Mild to warm inland with light winds tending southeasterly but cooler near the coast with afternoon seabreezes.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Friday.Product IDV10310
