MELBOURNE - Nov 15/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough extends into western New South Wales from a low over Western Australia, while a high pressure ridge lies to the south of the country. The trough is forecast to move into central and eastern New South Wales tomorrow, then contract to the northeast Saturday. An upper level trough is expected to cross eastern NSW Sunday before a high pressure ridge develops across much of the state during Monday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayPatchy rain in the southwest, extending across remaining southern and central districts in the evening or overnight. Northwest to northeasterly winds in the north, and a south to southwesterly change developing over the remainder.Friday 16 NovemberPatchy rain for most districts, more widespread and heavier about central parts of the coast and ranges. The chance of of early morning thunder in the far northwest, and afternoon thunderstorms about the northeast and the central ranges. Very warm to hot in the northeast, before cooler southerly winds extend throughout.Fire Danger - very high:Far North Coast and Northern Slopes.Saturday 17 NovemberRain in the northeast, contracting to the far north coast and eastern ranges during the day and easing. Isolated showers in the southeast clearing. Fine remainder. South to southeast winds, fresh to strong about the northern coast.Sunday 18 NovemberScattered showers about the coast and ranges with possible thunderstorms. Fine elsewhere. Mostly southerly winds.Monday 19 NovemberIsolated showers about the coast and ranges. Fine elsewhere.
