MELBOURNE - Nov 14/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak cold front will move across Tasmania and southern Victoria today as a high pressure system develops south of the Bight. The high will remain over the Bight on Friday and Saturday. A cold front will move from the Southern Ocean towards southwestern Victoria late Saturday but will weaken as it moves through Bass Strait on Sunday. The high pressure system will move further eastwards on Sunday and will extend a ridge across Tasmania. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayMorning fog patches mainly south of the divide. Cloud increasing with isolated showers developing from the west and south. Warm in the north, milder in the south with light to moderate south to southwesterly winds, freshening about the coast.Fire Danger - Locally high.Friday 16 NovemberIsolated showers on and south of the ranges contracting to the coast during the day. Isolated showers clearing from the northwest. Cool to mild and partly cloudy. Moderate south to southwesterly winds, fresh and gusty about the coast.Saturday 17 NovemberIsolated showers on and south of the divide. Fine and mostly in the north. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southerly winds.Sunday 18 NovemberIsolated showers on and south of the divide, becoming more widespread over east Gippsland. Fine and mostly sunny in the north.
