MELBOURNE - Nov 14/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough extends into New South Wales from a low over Western Australia, while a high pressure ridge lies to the south of the country. The low is forecast to move into central and eastern New South Wales on Friday, then contract to the northeast Saturday. Following this a high pressure ridge will begin to develop over NSW. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayCloud increasing with patchy rain developing in the south, west and central districts during the afternoon and evening. A little early drizzle about the coast and adjacent ranges. Areas of raised dust possible in the west. Very warm to hot in the north with strengthening northwest to northeasterly winds. Gusty south to southwesterly winds developing over the remainder.Fire Danger - Very high:northern and central districts.Friday 16 NovemberPatchy rain for most districts, more widespread and heavier about central parts of the coast and ranges and adjacent western slopes and plains. The chance of thunderstorms in the northeast and about the central ranges and western slopes. Very warm to hot in the far north before cooler southerly winds extending throughout.Saturday 17 NovemberRain in the northeast, contracting to the far north coast and eastern ranges during the day and easing. Isolated showers in the southeast clearing. Fine remainder. South to southeast winds, fresh to strong about the northern coast.Sunday 18 NovemberIsolated showers about the coast and ranges. Fine remainder.
