MELBOURNE - Nov 11/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high centred over the Tasman will remain there until mid-week. A front near Ceduna late Sunday afternoon will move eastwards, reaching the northeast corner of the State by late Monday evening. A new high will become established west of the Bight during Monday, and will move southeastwards on Tuesday to be centred east of Tasmania on Wednesday. A complex low pressure trough will move over the State from the west during Thursday, ahead of another high developing southwest of the Bight. Forecast for the rest of SundayWarm to hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds, ahead of a fresh and gusty southwest to southerly change near Ceduna late afternoon, extending eastwards to reach central Eyre Peninsula and Kangaroo Island late evening. Areas of raised dust over parts of Eyre Peninsula, the West Coast and Northwest Pastoral districts. The chance of isolated evening showers and possible thunder developing west of about Fowlers Bay and near remaining western coasts.Monday 12 NovemberThe chance of isolated showers and possible early morning thunder over areas southwest of about Tarcoola to Keith, clearing before midday. Moderate northerly winds in the northeast ahead of the fresh southwest to southerly change extending northeastwards to reach Broken Hill to Oodnadatta in the evening. Mild in the south, grading to hot in the northeast.Tuesday 13 NovemberFine. Partly cloudy. Mild in the south grading to hot in the far north. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds, tending northeasterly over parts of the Northeast Pastoral.Wednesday 14 NovemberFine. Partly cloudy. Mild in the south grading to hot in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending northeast to northwesterly over parts of the Northeast Pastoral.Thursday 15 NovemberIsolated showers developing from the west. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds extending throughout. Mild in the south grading to hot in the far north. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday afternoon until midnight Thursday are expected to be up to 2 mm with local falls to 5 mm. The majority of this rainfall expected on Thursday.Friday until SundayIsolated showers over the agricultural area east of Spencer Gulf and over the Flinders and Northeast Pastoral districts, contracting northeastwards and clearing by Friday evening. Fine on Saturday and Sunday. Mainly moderate southwest to southeast winds, turning northeasterly in the west during the weekend.
