MELBOURNE - Nov 9/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A broad trough of low pressure lies over the state's northeastern parts while a cold front is moving through the south and west. This trough has been creating unsettled conditions through the northeastern half of the state for the last couple of days. The focus of activity is expected to shift further northeast on Saturday, then clear the state on Sunday as drier cooler air extends throughout. A ridge of high pressure is forecast to strengthen over the region in the wake of the trough. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers along the southern and central coast and ranges. Scattered showers or rain areas in the northeast with isolated storms. Fine remainder. Northerly winds in the northeast, and cooler southwesterly winds across the remainder.Saturday 10 NovemberMorning fog on the coast and ranges. Isolated showers in the east, more widespread and with the chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. Fine in the west. Southwest to southeasterly winds extending throughout.Sunday 11 NovemberMorning fog on the coast and ranges. Isolated showers in the far northeast. Fine in the remainder. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Monday 12 NovemberIsolated showers and afternoon thunderstorms in the southeast. Northeast to northwest winds, turning southwesterly in the southwest.Tuesday 13 NovemberIsolated showers morning showers or drizzle along the eastern slopes of the ranges. The chance of afternoon showers and storms on the northern coast and adjacent ranges. Fine remainder.
