Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 8/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over New Zealand is directing warm and increasingly humid northerly winds across New South Wales, as a broad trough of low pressure lies over the state's northeastern parts. This trough is creating unsettled conditions through the northeastern half of the state today. The focus of activity is expected to shift further northeast on Friday as the cooler and drier air extends across the state's west. A ridge of high pressure is forecast to strengthen over the region in the wake of the front,.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayShowers and thunderstorms over the east of the state, more widespread across northeastern districts. Fine in the west. Warm to hot, humid northwest to northeasterly winds in the north and east, with cooler southwesterly winds extending across the remainder.Friday 9 NovemberScattered showers and thunderstorms in central and eastern districts, contracting towards the northeast and becoming widespread during the day. Fine in the west. Hot and humid northerly winds in the northeast, and cooler southwesterly winds across the remainder.Saturday 10 NovemberIsolated showers in the east, more widespread and with the chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. Fine in the west. Southwest to southeasterly winds extending throughout.Sunday 11 NovemberIsolated showers in the far northeast. Fine in the remainder. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Monday 12 NovemberIsolated showers in the far south, with the chance of thunderstorms in the south during the afternoon.
