MELBOURNE - Nov 8/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A ridge of high pressure extends over the south of the State. A weak cold front will move over the southeast of the State overnight Thursday. A high will move over the Bight on Friday to be centred near Mount Gambier Saturday morning and over the Tasman Sea on Sunday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast of the Northwest Pastoral contracting to the far northeast in the evening. Possible isolated showers over the Kangaroo Island and the South East districts, more likely about the southern coasts. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds easing later.Friday 9 NovemberPossible isolated showers over the Kangaroo Island and the South East districts, more likely about the Lower South East coast, contracting south and clearing during the afternoon. Cool in the south, mild to warm elsewhere with moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds.Saturday 10 NovemberFine. Mild to warm. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds and coastal sea breezes.Sunday 11 NovemberFine apart from isolated late showers about western and south central coasts. Warm to hot with moderate northeast to northerly winds, freshening in the west, ahead of a fresh and gusty southwest to southerly change reaching a line Port Lincoln to Tarcoola late evening.Monday 12 NovemberIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area with possible showers over the remaining agricultural area and West Coast district, contracting east and clearing by evening. Mild to warm in the south, hot in the north with light to moderate northerly winds in the northeast and moderate to fresh southerly winds elsewhere. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday morning until midnight Sunday are expected to be up to 2 mm with isolated falls of up to 10 mm possible with thunderstorms.Tuesday until ThursdayFine on Tuesday and Wednesday with possible showers developing in the west on Thursday.
