MELBOURNE - Nov 5/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system near New Zealand is drifting eastwards. A low pressure trough will move slowly across the State today. The trough will remain over eastern districts on Wednesday and Thursday as the next high pressure system enters the Bight. The high will move a little further eastwards on Friday as a low pressure system develops east of Tasmania. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayShowers and isolated thunderstorms extending eastwards to most districts but clearing from western and central districts during the afternoon. A mild to warm day with moderate to fresh northerly winds in the east, tending light to moderate west to northwesterly in the west.Fire Danger - High in the east.Wednesday 7 NovemberRain and isolated thunderstorms in the east with some heavy falls possible. Isolated showers elsewhere in the south, dry in the northwest. A cool to mild day, warmer in the northwest. Moderate northwesterly winds in the east tending west to southwesterly elsewhere.Thursday 8 NovemberRain areas in the far east easing to showers during the early morning. Isolated showers over remaining southern and mountain districts, dry over the north. A cool to mild day with moderate west to southwesterly winds.Friday 9 NovemberScattered showers over southern and mountain districts, only isolated showers over the northern plains in the afternoon. Remaining dry over the northwest.
