Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 5/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front near Tarcoola to Kingscote will move east to reach a line Renmark to Hawker towards midnight, before weakening into a trough of low pressure near Marree to Oodnadatta on Tuesday, moving to the northeast corner of the State on Wednesday. A ridge of high pressure will be positioned over the Bight on Tuesday and Wednesday. A deep low will move southeastwards well south of the State during late Monday and Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayFresh to strong northerly winds, ahead of a cooler fresh west to southwest change in the west extending eastwards to reach Adelaide to Coober Pedy late afternoon and Renmark to Hawker towards midnight. Scattered showers and gusty thunderstorms contracting eastwards this evening. A possible period of rain about central and eastern districts later this evening.Tuesday 6 NovemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms over central and eastern districts, contracting northeastwards and tending scattered during the day. A period of rain about eastern districts during the early morning. Hot to very hot over the Northeast Pastoral with mainly moderate northerly winds, shifting southerly in the south. Generally mild to warm over the remainder with mainly moderate southwest to southerly winds.Wednesday 7 NovemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms northeast of Renmark to Ernabella contracting northeastwards and becoming scattered in the far northeast from late afternoon. Possible isolated showers over the southern agricultural area and western coasts, more likely about southern coasts. Mild to warm, tending hot in the far northeast with mainly moderate southwest to southeast winds,Thursday 8 NovemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the far northeast clearing. Possible isolated showers over the southern agricultural area more likely in the south during the evening and becoming scattered about Kangaroo Island with possible thunder. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday morning until midnight Thursday are expected to be 5 to 10 mm in the west with local falls of 10 to 20 mm with thunderstorms. 10 to 20 mm elsewhere with local falls of 20 to 30 mm with thunderstorms.Friday 9 NovemberIsolated showers over the agricultural area tending scattered over the South East districts, with possible thunder, contracting east and clearing in the evening. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday afternoon until midnight Friday are expected to be up to 5 mm in the west with local falls of 10 to 20 mm with thunderstorms. 5 to 15 mm elsewhere with local falls of 15 to 30 mm with thunderstorms.Saturday until MondayFine conditions. Mild to warm grading to hot in the north with moderate southeast to northeasterly winds becoming moderate to fresh northerly ahead of a southerly change on Monday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Tuesday.Product IDS10033
