MELBOURNE - Nov 4/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is drifting eastwards. A low pressure trough will enter western Victoria late today and will move slowly across the State on Tuesday. The trough will remain over eastern districts on Wednesday and Thursday as the next High pressure system enters the Bight. Forecast for the rest of MondayScattered showers over the southwest extending to remaining districts, although only isolated showers expected over the most of the north and east. Possible thunderstorms over the south clearing this morning then redeveloping over the west late this afternoon and evening. Generally warm with moderate to fresh northwest to northeasterly winds, becoming fresh to strong and gusty over western and central parts. Afternoon seabreezes possible along the Gippsland Coast.Fire Danger - Generally HighTuesday 6 NovemberShowers and isolated thunderstorms extending eastwards to most districts, but clearing from the west during the afternoon. Showers tending to rain at times over western and central parts during the morning. A warm day with moderate to fresh northerly winds in the east, tending light to moderate west to northwesterly in the west.Wednesday 7 NovemberRain and isolated thunderstorms in the east with moderate to heavy falls possible. Rain areas clearing from central districts by the afternoon with only isolated showers remaining in the south. Fine elsewhere. A cool to mild day, warmer in the northwest. Moderate northwesterly winds in the east tending west to southwesterly elsewhere.Thursday 8 NovemberRain areas in the far east easing to showers during the morning. Isolated showers over remaining southern and mountain districts, dry over the north.
