MELBOURNE - Nov 4/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is directing increasingly warmer and more humid north to northeasterly winds across New South Wales as a trough develops over western and southern Australia. This trough is expected to move into New South Wales on Tuesday, which will see showers and thunderstorms develop over most southern and western districts. Showers will become more widespread from late Tuesday or Wednesday as a cold front, moves closer to our region and heavy falls are possible. Forecast for the rest of SundayScattered showers in the northeast, with the chance of thunderstorms about the northern ranges. Isolated afternoon showers on the eastern slopes of the southern and central ranges. Fine elsewhere. Chiefly northeast to northwesterly winds.Monday 5 NovemberIsolated early showers in the far northeast, afternoon showers possible on the eastern slopes of the far southern ranges. Cloud increasing with isolated late showers and thunderstorms possible in the southwest. Fine elsewhere. Warm to very hot northwest to northeasterly winds, freshening along the coast and in the west.Fire Danger - Very High over the Upper Western.Tuesday 6 NovemberShowers and thunderstorms developing across the south and west of the state, becoming more widespread during the afternoon and increasing to rain in the far southwest at night. Fine in the northeast. Warm to very hot and humid northeast to northwest winds, tending southwesterly in the west.Wednesday 7 NovemberRain and thunderstorms across the southern and central districts, gradually clearing in the far southwest. Heavy falls possible in the southeast. Isolated afternoon showers on the northern ranges.
