MELBOURNE - Nov 3/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over the Tasman sea is moving slowly eastwards. A trough of low pressure will move across the State on Monday and into the northeast corner on Tuesday, where it will remain on Wednesday. A high west of Perth on Wednesday will extend a ridge over the Bight. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers over the agricultural area to the east of the Mount Lofty Ranges, contracting eastwards and clearing by late evening. Isolated showers and thunderstorms over the Northwest Pastoral northwest of about Coober Pedy, clearing late evening. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds shifting southwest to southerly in the west.Sunday 4 NovemberFine throughout during the morning. Isolated showers and thunderstorms developing in the west during the afternoon, extending eastwards to areas west of about Coober Pedy to Woomera to Port Lincoln. Warm near southern coasts grading to hot to very hot in the far north and west. Light to moderate northeast to northerly winds, freshening in the west, shifting southwest to southeasterly in the far west in the evening.Monday 5 NovemberHot to very hot with fresh to strong northerly winds ahead of a cooler westerly change extending from the west, expected near Renmark to Oodnadatta late evening. Isolated showers and thunderstorms extending eastwards across the State, increasing to scattered near the change, then clearing in the west later in the day.Tuesday 6 NovemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms east of about Kingscote to Coober Pedy, contracting eastwards to be confined to areas northeast of Renmark to Coober Pedy by late evening. Showers scattered at times in the east early morning and northeast of Renmark to Coober Pedy from midday. Warm to hot over the Northeast Pastoral with mainly moderate northerly winds, shifting southerly in the south. Generally mild to warm over the remainder with mainly moderate southwest to southerly winds.Wednesday 7 NovemberScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms northeast of Yunta to Coober Pedy. Fine over the remainder apart from possible isolated showers near southern coasts. Mild to warm with mainly moderate southwest to southeast winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday afternoon until midnight Wednesday are expected to be highly variable due to the dynamic and unstable conditions expected early next week. Totals of up to 5 mm are possible with isolated falls of up to 20 to 30 mm associated with thunderstorms, chiefly in the northeast.Thursday until SaturdayScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the far northeast, becoming isolated in the evening and clearing by Friday. Fine over the remainder apart from the chance of isolated showers over the southern agricultural area, contracting to southern coasts on Friday and clearing by afternoon. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north.
