MELBOURNE - Nov 1/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system will move through southern Bass Strait and east of Tasmania this evening, to be located in the Tasman sea tonight. The next high pressure system will move over waters south of the Bight tonight and will extend a ridge towards Victoria on Friday. The high will pass across Tasmania on Saturday, and become slow moving in the Tasman Sea on Sunday and Monday. A low pressure trough will approach western Victoria late on Monday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the southeast, decreasing to isolated showers in western and central districts. Fine in the north. Fresh west to southwesterly winds, strong at times in the southeast.Friday 2 NovemberIsolated showers in the south clearing from the west. Dry over the north. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Fire Danger - Low to moderate.Saturday 3 NovemberDry and mostly sunny in the east. Cloud increasing over western and central districts during the day with isolated showers developing, but mostly dry. Generally mild with generally light winds and coastal seabreezes.Sunday 4 NovemberDry and mostly sunny apart from isolated showers in central and eastern districts, clearing eastwards during the morning. A warm to hot day inland with light winds, milder near the coast with afternoon seabreezes.Monday 5 NovemberWarm to hot day with cloud increasing from the west. Isolated showers developing from the west and extending to the east later.Isolated late thunderstorms in the far west.
