MELBOURNE - Nov 1/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weakening high pressure system is centred over the northern Tasman Sea, while a trough and associated cold front move over western New South Wales. This front will bring a cooler southerly change to southern and central districts today, extending to the northeast during Friday. In the wake of this change, the next high will extend a ridge towards New South Wales from the west, which will remain the dominant feature through the weekend. Another trough is forecast to affect the state next week. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayShowers across the south, mainly near the Victorian border, shifting to central and eastern districts during the afternoon with possible local thunder. Fine across most of the north elsewhere. Hot to very hot, gusty north to northwesterly winds, with a fresh south to southwesterly change extending through the south and west.Fire Danger - Severe Sydney, Hunter. Very High other eastern districts north from Illawarra, and northern inland.Friday 2 NovemberIsolated showers along the coast and eastern ranges, mostly clearing during the morning. Fine remainder. South to southwesterly winds extending throughout.Saturday 3 NovemberIsolated afternoon showers in the far southwest and in the far northeast. Fine remainder. Southeast to northeast winds.Sunday 4 NovemberIsolated showers in the northeast, and possibly on the south coast during the afternoon. Fine elsewhere.
