Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 30/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is moving slowly east-southeast while a cold front approaches from the south of Western Australia. This front is expected to move through NSW later in the week, bringing with it some showers and a south to southwest change on Thursday or Friday. In the wake of the front a broad low pressure trough is expected to develop across the state.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the east, most widespread over the ranges this afternoon then easing tonight. Fine in the west. Chiefly northeast to northwesterly winds.Wednesday 31 OctoberIsolated showers and thunderstorms on the far north coast, with the chance of showers also over the northern ranges during the afternoon. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Northeast to northwesterly winds, freshening across the south ahead of a late southerly change in southern border areas.Thursday 1 NovemberScattered showers and possible thunderstorms in the southwest, contracting to the southeast during the afternoon and clearing during the night. Fine elsewhere. Gusty northeast to northwest winds tending south to southwest in the south. Raised dust possible in the west.Friday 2 NovemberIsolated showers along the coast and eastern ranges, mostly clearing during the morning. Fine remainder. South to southwesterly winds extending throughout.Saturday 3 NovemberIsolated afternoon showers in the far southwest and in the far northeast. Fine remainder.
