MELBOURNE - Oct 29/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary at issue time
For the latest warning information please check the Bureau's
web site www.bom.gov.au/qld
Weather Situation
A high [1023 hPa] over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge along Queensland's east
coast, while a weak surface trough lies over the state's west. An upper level
trough is drifting eastwards across the southern districts.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday
Scattered showers and thunderstorms, and patchy rain over central interior,
clearing from the west during the day. Isolated showers and thunderstorms about
the rest of the state, except for the western interior, where conditions will be
fine and mostly sunny.Temperatures will be below average over the southern and
central interior. Light to moderate SE to NE winds, fresh at times about the
northeast coast.
Forecast for Wednesday
The upper level trough is expected to move off the east coast during the day,
causing conditions to clear over the state's interior. Meanwhile the high in
the Tasman Sea will push some moisture onto the east coast, resulting in some
isolated showers over the eastern districts. Isolated showers and storms are
also expected about the Gulf Country. Daytime temperatures over the western and
southern districts will be above normal.
Forecast for Thursday
The air is likely to remain dry across most of Queensland, resulting in fine
and mostly sunny conditions across most of the state, except for some isolated
showers and thunderstorms about the Gulf Country. Daytime temperatures will
remain above normal over much of the state.
Forecast for Friday
Fine and mostly sunny across most of the state, though some isolated showers
and thunderstorms are possible about the Gulf Country. Just the chance of some
isolated showers developing during the day near the southeast coast with the
passage of a cooler southerly change.
Outlook for Saturday, Sunday and Monday
The southerly change may produce isolated showers and thunderstorms in the
southeast on Saturday, while unstable air mass will lead to possible showers and
thunderstorms in the Gulf Country. However, continuing stable conditions under
an upper ridge will lead to generally fine and sunny conditions over most of the
state with above average temperatures through the outlook period.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:10 pm EST
Tuesday.
