Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 29/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will move slowly eastwards during the week. A low pressure trough will approach from the west tomorrow, reaching the far southwest late in the day then slowly extending eastwards across the State on Wednesday. The trough will clear the far northeast by early Thursday. The next high pressure system will move over waters south of the Bight late Thursday and will extend a ridge towards Victoria on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayDry and mostly clear tonight with light winds.Tuesday 30 OctoberEarly fog patches over Gippsland, otherwise a dry, warm to very warm and mostly sunny day. Light to moderate north to northwesterly winds and local afternoon coastal seabreezes. A milder southwesterly change in the southwest during the evening.Wednesday 31 OctoberWarm to hot in the north and east with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds, strong about the eastern highlands. A cooler fresh southwesterly change in the southwest during the morning, extending to central and northwestern areas in the afternoon then to the east at night. Isolated showers developing in the west following the change.Thursday 1 NovemberCool with isolated showers, mainly over southern and mountain areas, scattered over the east until the afternoon. Moderate to fresh southwest to southerly wind.Friday 2 NovemberIsolated showers in the south clearing from the west. Dry over the northwest plains. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Tuesday.Product IDV10310
