MELBOURNE - Oct 29/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the western Tasman Sea is moving slowly east-southeast maintaining a ridge to northeastern New South Wales. During Thursday and Friday a cold front will move through the state as the high weakens near New Zealand. In the wake of the front a broad low pressure trough is expected to develop across the state. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers in the northwest with the chance of thunderstorms. Isolated showers on the northern ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. East to northeasterly winds.Tuesday 30 OctoberIsolated showers in the north, more likely near the Queensland border during the afternoon with the chance of thunderstorms. Isolated afternoon showers over the central and southern ranges. Fine elsewhere. Chiefly northeast to northwesterly winds.Wednesday 31 OctoberThe chance of some showers on the northern ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Northeast to northwesterly winds, freshening across the south ahead of a late southerly change in southern border areas.Thursday 1 NovemberIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms over the southern half. Fine elsewhere. Northeast to northwest winds tending south to southwest in the south.Friday 2 NovemberShowers increasing over the eastern half. Fine in the west.
