MELBOURNE - Oct 28/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system is strengthening over the western Tasman Sea, extending a ridge to the northern New South Wales coast. The high will drift slowly east over the following day or two, directing warmer and more humid air into a trough developing over the state's northwest. The next cold front is expected to bring a southerly change across the region late Wednesday and Thursday as the high moves towards New Zealand and weakens. Forecast for the rest of SundayThe chance of showers along the northern coast, and over the northern inland near the Queensland border. Fine elsewhere. Northeast to southeasterly winds.Monday 29 OctoberIsolated showers developing across the north, more likely in the Upper Western district with the chance of thunderstorms. Fine and partly cloudy in the south. East to northeasterly winds.Tuesday 30 OctoberIsolated showers across the north, more likely near the Queensland border with the chance of thunderstorms. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Chiefly northeast to northwesterly winds.Wednesday 31 OctoberPossible showers in the northeast, and across the southern border regions later in the day. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Northeast to northwesterly winds, freshening across the south ahead of a late southerly change.Thursday 1 NovemberIsolated showers in the east, with the chance of afternoon thunderstorms in the northeast. Possible early showers across the southern inland, otherwise fine.
