MELBOURNE - Oct 27/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Bight will gradually move southeast of the State during the weekend to become established over the Tasman Sea by late Sunday. A trough of low pressure will approach the western border late Monday, then move slowly eastwards over the State on Tuesday and Wednesday, reaching the northeast of the State on Thursday, with another high becoming established well south of Western Australia. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine and mostly clear. A cool evening with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Sunday 28 OctoberFine apart from early fog patches over the southern agricultural area and isolated frost over the agricultural area. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north and west. Mostly light southeast to northeast winds.Monday 29 OctoberFine. Warm in the south grading to hot in the north and west. Light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds extending throughout.Tuesday 30 OctoberMostly hot with freshening northerly winds ahead of a cooler, freshening southwest to southerly change in the far west late morning, gradually extending eastwards over western and southern parts. The chance of isolated showers and thunder developing west of Fowlers Bay.Wednesday 31 OctoberModerate to fresh northerly winds in the north ahead of the fresh southerly change extending eastwards to reach Broken Hill to Coober Pedy late evening. A cool day near southern coasts grading to hot over the Pastoral and Flinders districts. The chance of isolated showers over the agricultural area, with possible isolated showers and thunder west of Coober Pedy to Elliston. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday afternoon until midnight Wednesday are expected to be generally less than 1 mm.Thursday until SaturdayCool to mild near southern coasts grading to hot in the north. The chance of isolated showers over the agricultural area and in the west, contracting to the west on Friday and clearing on Saturday.
