MELBOURNE - Oct 23/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough near Coober Pedy to Cape Borda will move continue to move east to be near Marree to Broken Hill midnight Wednesday and near Moomba Thursday morning. A low pressure system is expected to develop south of Kangaroo Island late Wednesday and move over Bass Strait on Thursday morning. A high pressure system will develop over the Bight late on Friday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers and possible thunder extending from western districts over the remainder of the Northwest Pastoral and the agricultural area. Hot in the north and east with mainly moderate northeast to northerly winds, ahead of a milder, fresh southwest to southeasterly change extending from the west, strong at times about central coasts.Thursday 25 OctoberIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms north of Coober Pedy. Isolated showers about the West Coast and the agricultural area, contracting to southern and western coasts during the afternoon. Cool over the West Coast and the agricultural area, grading to hot in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds extending throughout during the day.Friday 26 OctoberIsolated showers in the far north. Isolated showers about the southern agricultural area and possible showers about the western coast. Mild to warm grading to hot in the far northeast with moderate to fresh southerly winds.Saturday 27 OctoberPossible isolated showers over Kangaroo Island, the South East and western coasts clearing during the afternoon. Cool to mild in the south grading to mild to warm in the north with mainly moderate southwest to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday afternoon until midnight Saturday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the West Coast and the southern agricultural area, and generally less than 2 mm elsewhere. Falls of 2 to 5 mm are possible with showers and thunderstorms in the north of the state. Isolated falls of 5 to 10 mm are also possible about southern and western coasts and rangesSunday until TuesdayFine apart from possible isolated early morning showers about the Lower South east coast on Sunday.
