Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 23/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the southwestern Tasman Sea extends a ridge to New South Wales north coast. As the high and the ridge weakens a cold front and low pressure trough will move through the state during Thursday. Behind the front another high is expected to move towards Tasmania during Friday extending a ridge across southeastern Australia.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated clearing showers on the far north coast. Partly cloudy. Southeast to northeast winds, fresh on the northern coast.Wednesday 24 OctoberMostly sunny throughout. Early frost patches on the western slopes and ranges. North to northeasterly winds.Thursday 25 OctoberMostly sunny in the north and locally hot, partly cloudy in the south. Northwest to northeast winds winds turning cooler south st southwesterly in the west and southeast.Friday 26 OctoberIsolated showers on the Alps with possible snow showers about the higher peaks. The chance showers on the far south coast and the chance of showers or thunderstorms on the far north coasts. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds extending throughout.Saturday 27 OctoberIsolated clearing showers in the far southeast and the chance of showers on the far north coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds, fresh near the south and central coasts.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Wednesday.Product IDN10031
