Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 22/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A front over the far west of the State will move northeastwards to be near a line Coober Pedy to Kingscote midnight Tuesday, near Leigh Creek to Renmark midnight Wednesday and near Moomba Thursday morning. A low pressure system is expected to develop south of Kangaroo Island late Wednesday and move over Bass Strait on Thursday morning.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayHot with fresh northerly winds ahead of a milder, fresh southwesterly change with isolated showers and possible thunder extending into the west of the State. Areas of raised dust in the west.Wednesday 24 OctoberIsolated showers and possible thunder extending from western districts over the remainder of the Northwest Pastoral and the agricultural area. Showers increasing to scattered about southern coasts during the day. Hot in the north and east with mainly moderate northeast to northerly winds, ahead of a milder, fresh southwest to southeasterly change extending from the west. Areas of raised dust north of about Port Augusta to Renmark.Thursday 25 OctoberIsolated showers north of Coober Pedy. Isolated showers about the West Coast and the agricultural area, increasing to scattered showers about the South East during the morning, contracting to southern coasts during the afternoon. Cool over the West Coast and the agricultural area, grading to hot in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds extending throughout during the day.Friday 26 OctoberPossible showers in the far north. Isolated showers about the West Coast and southern agricultural area, increasing to scattered in the southeast during the morning. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday morning until midnight Friday are expected to be 5 to 10 mm over the Lower South East and Kangaroo Island, 2 to 5 mm over the West Coast and remainder of the agricultural area, and generally less than 2 mm elsewhere.Saturday until MondayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area on Saturday, contracting to Kangaroo Island and the South East coasts Sunday morning, then clearing Sunday afternoon. Cool to mild in the south grading to mild to warm in the north with moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds, easing on Sunday, then turning light to moderate east to northeasterly on Monday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Tuesday.Product IDS10033
