MELBOURNE - Oct 22/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front is crossing the Tasman Sea and a high pressure system is moving towards Tasmania extending a ridge across New South Wales behind the front. The high will move over the the southern Tasman Sea tonight and then it will continue to move east during Tuesday and Wednesday maintaining the ridge to the northeast. Another cold front is expected to move through the state on Thursday. Forecast for the rest of MondayScattered coastal showers tending isolated on the adjacent ranges and the chance of thunderstorms along the southern and central coastal fringe. Isolated snow showers on the Alps. Mostly clear in the west. Fresh south to southwesterly winds extending throughout, fresh and gusty along the coast.Tuesday 23 OctoberIsolated showers near the northern half of the coast clearing from the south. Mostly sunny remainder. Early frosts and fog patches on the southern ranges and slopes. Southeast to northeast winds, fresh on the northern coast.Wednesday 24 OctoberMostly sunny throughout. North to northeasterly winds.Thursday 25 OctoberIsolated showers on the Alps. Mostly sunny in the north and locally hot. partly cloudy in the south. Northwest to northeast winds winds turning cooler south st southwesterly in the west and southeast.Friday 26 OctoberThe chance showers on the south and central coasts. Mostly sunny elsewhere.
