Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 21/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high 1025 hPa south of the Bight will move eastwards across Bass Strait on Monday. A front will reach the western border area early Tuesday, then progress across the State during Tuesday and Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers and thunderstorms northeast of about Marla to Leigh Creek, contracting northwards to the far north in the evening. Cool in the south grading to very hot in the far northeast. Generally moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.Monday 22 OctoberFine with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds. Mild in the south grading to hot in the far north.Tuesday 23 OctoberHot with fresh northerly winds ahead of a milder, fresh southwesterly change with isolated showers and possible thunder extending into the west of the State. Areas of raised dust ahead of and with the change north of Cleve to Clare.Wednesday 24 OctoberIsolated showers and possible thunder extending from western districts over the remainder of the Northwest Pastoral and the agricultural area. Showers increasing to scattered about southern coasts during the day. Hot in the north and east with mainly moderate northeast to northerly winds, ahead of a milder, fresh southwest to southeasterly change extending from the west.Thursday 25 OctoberIsolated showers north of Coober Pedy. Isolated showers about the West Coast and the agricultural area, contracting to southern coasts during the afternoon. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday afternoon until midnight Thursday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the West Coast and agricultural area, and generally less than 2 mm elsewhere. Isolated falls of 5 to 10 mm about the West Coast and agricultural area with thunderstorms.Friday until SundayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area on Friday and Saturday, contracting to Kangaroo Island and the South East coasts then clearing Sunday afternoon. Cool to mild in the south grading to mild to warm in the north with moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds, easing on Sunday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Monday.Product IDS10033
