Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 19/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak trough will move over the far north today. A high is expected to move south of the Bight during the weekend to reach Tasmania on Monday. A front will reach the western border area early Tuesday, then progress across the State during Tuesday and Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated light showers developing over the agricultural area during the day. The chance of isolated thundery showers over the Pastoral and Flinders districts. Mild in the south grading to hot in the north. Light winds ahead of moderate southerly winds extending northwards during the day, freshening in the west.Sunday 21 OctoberFine apart from isolated light showers near southern coasts and over eastern districts, all clearing early morning. The chance of isolated thundery showers north of about Broken Hill to Woomera. Cool in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds extending throughout early.Monday 22 OctoberFine with light to moderate southeast to northeast winds. Mild in the south grading to hot in the far north.Tuesday 23 OctoberHot with freshening northerly winds ahead of a milder, fresh southwesterly change with isolated showers and possible thunder extending into the west of the State. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday morning until midnight Tuesday are expected to be generally less than 2 mm.Wednesday until FridayIsolated showers and possible thunder extending over western districts and the southern agricultural area, then isolated showers throughout early Thursday, contracting to southern coasts and the far north in the afternoon, persisting there on Friday. A milder, fresh southwest to south change gradually extending eastwards to be throughout early Thursday. Cool in the south on Friday grading to mild in the north.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Saturday.Product IDS10033
