MELBOURNE - Oct 18/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak low pressure trough over eastern South Australia will cross Victoria during Friday. A cold front will approach southwestern Victoria later on Saturday, moving through the State during Saturday night and Sunday morning. The next high will move into the Bight late on Saturday and extend a ridge across northern Victoria on Sunday, before moving across Tasmania on Monday. Forecast for the rest of FridayEarly fog patches in the east. Isolated showers contracting to the eastern ranges this afternoon then clearing this evening. The chance of early thunderstorms in the west and north. Partly cloudy with generally light north to northeast winds turning southwest to southerly from the west during the afternoon and evening. Afternoon coastal seabreezes.Saturday 20 OctoberFine until isolated showers develop in the far southwest at night and a little late rain in the northwest. Mild to warm with a light to moderate west to southwesterly freshening along the coast later.Sunday 21 OctoberPatchy rain clearing from the northwest. Isolated showers in southern and mountain districts, becoming scattered near the coast. Cool to mild day with moderate southwesterly winds, fresh to strong near the coast.Monday 22 OctoberScattered showers in the southeast and central districts, contracting eastwards and clearing later in the day.
