MELBOURNE - Oct 17/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over southern Victoria will move eastwards to the Tasman Sea on Thursday as a low pressure system develops over South Australia. The low will move to the north of Victoria during Friday. A cold front will approach southwestern Victoria later on Saturday, moving through the State during Saturday night and Sunday morning. The next high will move into the Bight late on Saturday and extend a ridge across northern Victoria on Sunday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayEarly fog patches in the south then fine although high cloud increasing from the west. A mild day in the south but warmer in the north. Light winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Friday 19 OctoberFine. Some high level cloud contracting eastwards. Warm inland with light winds. Milder near the coast with afternoon seabreezes.Saturday 20 OctoberFine until isolated showers develop in the far southwest at night and a little late rain in the northwest. Mild to warm with a light to moderate west to southwesterly freshening along the coast later.Sunday 21 OctoberPatchy rain clearing from the northwest. Scattered showers near the coast becoming isolated in remaining southern and mountain districts.
