MELBOURNE - Oct 17/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front is moving along the north coast as a high south of the Bight extends a ridge across Victoria and southern NSW. The front will stall and gradually weaken on the far north coast tomorrow as the high moves into the Tasman Sea. On Friday a trough will reach the central part of the coast late then move through the northeast Saturday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayMostly clear though cloud increasing along the northern coast and eastern ranges tonight. Southerly winds extending throughout most of the state, although remaining in northerly winds on the far north coast.Thursday 18 OctoberDrizzle patches along the north coast and adjacent eastern ranges, and possibly about the eastern part of the central ranges during the early morning. Possible isolated afternoon and evening thunderstorms in the far northeast near the Queensland border. Partly cloudy along the remainder of the coast and over the southern inland. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Early frost patches on the southern ranges, and isolated early fog patches in the east. Very warm day over the northern inland. Chiefly northwest to northeasterly winds, freshening along southern and central parts of the coast during the afternoon.Fire Danger - very high: Northwest Slopes and Plains.Friday 19 OctoberThe chance of isolated showers through most eastern districts. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Very warm day through most of the state, hot in the northwest. Northwest to northeast winds freshening before a south to southwest change in the west and south.Saturday 20 OctoberIsolated showers possible for the far northeast, mostly dry and sunny remainder. Very warm to hot day in the north. Northwest to northeast winds in the northeast. Southwest to southeast winds remainder.Sunday 21 OctoberScattered showers developing in southern and central districts. Isolated showers in the north, more likely northeast.
