MELBOURNE - Oct 17/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system south of Adelaide will move steadily eastwards to be over the Tasman Sea on Thursday. A weak trough will move across the State on Thursday and Friday ahead of another high, which is expected to move south of the Bight at the weekend. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayMostly clear. Cool in the south grading to mild in the north. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.Thursday 18 OctoberCloud increasing over southern parts of the south with the chance of light showers in the southern agricultural area and West Coast district. Possible thundery showers in the far west of the Northwest Pastoral district. Mild to warm grading to hot in the north with moderate to fresh north to northeasterly winds freshening in the west, shifting southerly about coastal districts during the day.Friday 19 OctoberFine apart from possible afternoon and early evening thundery showers in the north, mostly over the Pastoral districts. Mild to warm in the south and generally hot in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds extending throughout.Saturday 20 OctoberPossible afternoon and early evening thundery showers in the north. Isolated light showers developing about southern coastal areas later in the day. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north and west. Light northerly winds ahead of moderate southerly winds extending from the south during the day.Sunday 21 OctoberFine apart from isolated light showers clearing from the southern coastal areas during the morning. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Moderate south to southeasterly winds extending throughout. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday until midnight Sunday are expected to be generally less than 2 mm.Monday until WednesdayFine on Monday. Isolated showers developing in the far west on Tuesday associated with a slow moving trough, extending eastwards to reach the Victorian border by late Wednesday.
