Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 16/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front over western Victoria will move through eastern areas tonight. A high pressure system will develop over the Bight today then will move eastwards to be near southwestern Victoria Wednesday night. The high will move to the Tasman Sea on Thursday as a low pressure system develops over South Australia. The low will move to the north of Victoria during Friday. A cold front will approach southwestern Victoria later on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPatchy rain in the north and east contracting eastwards. Scattered showers to follow over southern and mountain districts becoming isolated in the west this evening. Isolated thunderstorms possible. A gusty west to southwesterly change extending from the west during the afternoon and evening.Wednesday 17 OctoberIsolated showers in southern and mountain districts, falling as snow above 1400 metres at first, contracting to the coast during the morning before clearing later. Cool to mild with moderate southwesterly winds, strong near the coast.Thursday 18 OctoberFine. Some high level cloud. Mild day in the south, mild to warm in the north. Light winds inland, moderate afternoon seabreezes developing.Friday 19 OctoberFine. Some high level cloud contracting eastwards. Warm inland with light winds. Milder near the coast with afternoon seabreezes.Saturday 20 OctoberFine until isolated showers develop in the far southwest at night. Mild to warm with a light to moderate west to southwesterly freshening along the coast later.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Wednesday.Product IDV10310
