MELBOURNE - Oct 16/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is moving southeast maintaining a ridge to northeastern New South Wales. During Tuesday and Wednesday a cold front will move through the state as the high moves further east and the ridge weakens. A low pressure trough is expected to form across the central parts of the state by Friday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayCloud increasing over the south with isolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms developing near the Victorian border, tending scattered about the western slopes of the far southern ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northeast to northwesterly winds, ahead of a southwesterly change in the south. Areas of raised dust in the west.Wednesday 17 OctoberThe chance of showers on the far south coast and ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southerly winds extending throughout.Fire Danger - Very High:North Coast, Northern Tablelands, Northwest Slopes.Thursday 18 OctoberIsolated showers on the far north coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest to northeasterly winds.Friday 19 OctoberThe chance of showers in the southern inland and in the northeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest to northeast winds.Saturday 20 OctoberMostly dry and sunny. Very warm in the north. Northwest to northeast winds in the northeast.
