Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 15/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak trough of low pressure trough over inland parts of the State will move northeastwards to reach a line Marree to Oodnadatta late Tuesday evening. A cold front will move across southern coasts Tuesday afternoon as a high develops over the Bight. A weak trough will move across the west and north of the State on Thursday and Friday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPatchy light rain over the agricultural area and the southern pastorals contracting east and clearing by evening. Isolated showers developing across southern coastal districts, increasing to scattered over the South East around midday then easing in the evening and contracting to coasts. Possible thunder this morning in the far west and also over the Riverland this afternoon. Hot in the northeast with moderate to fresh north to northwest winds, turning milder southwest to southerly over the remainder, strong at times about southern coasts.Wednesday 17 OctoberPossible isolated morning showers over the Lower South East, fine over the remainder. Cool to mild grading to hot in the north with moderate southeast to easterly winds tending southwesterly in the southeast.Thursday 18 OctoberFine apart from the chance of light showers about parts of the western and southern coasts. Mild to warm grading to hot in the north with moderate to fresh north to northeasterly winds freshening in the west, shifting southerly about coastal districts during the day.Friday 19 OctoberFine and mostly sunny. Mild to warm in the south and generally hot in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds extending throughout. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday morning until midnight Friday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the Lower South East and less than 2 mm elsewhere. Rainfall totals associated with the patchy rain is expected to be highly variable but local falls of 2 to 5 mm are possible.Saturday until MondayFine apart from possible isolated morning showers about the southern agricultural area on Sunday. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north and west with mainly moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Tuesday.Product IDS10033
