MELBOURNE - Oct 14/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system will move eastwards from northern Victoria to the northern Tasman Sea by Monday. A weak cold front will brush southern Victoria during Monday then a stronger front will reach western Victoria on Tuesday afternoon, moving through eastern areas at night. Another high pressure system will develop in the Bight on Tuesday and extend a ridge across northern Victoria before moving east to be south of Adelaide by late Wednesday. The high will move to the Tasman Sea on Thursday as a low pressure system develops over South Australia. Forecast for the rest of SundayFine and generally clear. Light winds tending moderate northerly in the west.Monday 15 OctoberMorning fog patches in the east. Fine apart from the chance of afternoon showers in the southwest. Warm day with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a milder southwesterly change in the west in the morning, reaching the east at night.Tuesday 16 OctoberPatchy rain and isolated thunderstorms developing from the west and extending to all districts apart from East Gippsland in the afternoon. Mild to warm with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds ahead of a late cooler westerly change in the west, reaching the east at night.Wednesday 17 OctoberIsolated showers in southern and mountain districts, falling as snow above 1400 metres at first, contracting to the coast. Cool to mild with moderate southwesterly winds, strong near the coast.Thursday 18 OctoberIsolated showers near the coast, clearing in the morning. Mild day in the south, mild to warm in the north.
