Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 14/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high 1026 hPa over Victoria will move over the Tasman Sea this evening. A low pressure trough will move across the far west of the State late today, then move slowly northeastwards to reach a line Marree to Oodnadatta late Tuesday evening. A cold front will move across southern coasts Tuesday afternoon as a high pressure system develops over the Bight. A weak trough will move across the north of the State on Thursday and Friday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayA fine, mild and mostly clear apart from possible isolated thundery showers in the far west. Mild to warm with moderate northerly winds, shifting southerly in the far west.Monday 15 OctoberEarly fog patches about the west coast. Possible isolated thundery showers over the West Coast and far south of the Northwest Pastoral. Mild to warm, grading to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh northerly winds, shifting milder southerly across western and southern parts.Tuesday 16 OctoberIsolated light showers from mid level cloud over the agricultural areas and the southern pastorals contracting east and clearing by evening. Isolated showers developing across southern coastal districts, increasing to scattered over the Lower South East in the afternoon and evening. Hot in the northeast with moderate to fresh north to northwest winds, turning milder southwest to southerly over the remainder, strong at times about southern coasts.Wednesday 17 OctoberIsolated morning showers over the Lower South East. Cool to mild grading to hot in the north with moderate southeast to easterly winds tending southwesterly in the southeast.Thursday 18 OctoberFine and with areas of high cloud. Mild to warm grading to hot in the north with moderate to fresh north to northeasterly winds freshening in the west, shifting southerly about coastal districts during the day. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday until midnight Thursday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the Lower South East and less than 2 mm elsewhere.Friday until SundayFine with areas of high cloud over the weekend. Mild to warm, generally hot in the north. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds extending throughout on Friday, freshening in the south and west on Saturday then becoming fresh southwest to southeasterly throughout on Sunday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Monday.Product IDS10033
