MELBOURNE - Oct 12/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A complex low pressure system over the eastern Tasman Sea will continue to move rapidly east this morning. A high pressure system near Adelaide will drift over western Victoria today then across the east of the State on Sunday to reach the northern Tasman Sea by Monday. A weak cold front will brush southern Victoria late on Monday then a stronger front will reach western Victoria on Tuesday afternoon. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayScattered showers mainly on and south of the ranges contracting to the coast and East Gippsland in the evening. Showers falling as snow above 1400 metres over the eastern ranges. Mostly dry over the northern plains, just some isolated showers in the east. Cool and mainly cloudy with light to moderate southwest winds, fresh about parts of the coast.Sunday 14 OctoberIsolated showers or drizzle in the southeast clearing during the morning. Local morning fogs and frost in the west and north. A mild and mainly sunny day with light winds tending north to northwesterly.Monday 15 OctoberGenerally fine and warm with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a milder southwesterly change in the west later. Isolated showers possible near the west coast during the afternoon and evening.Tuesday 16 OctoberIsolated showers developing from the west and becoming more extensive in the southwest and about the northeast ranges during the afternoon. Remaining dry over East Gippsland.
