MELBOURNE - Oct 12/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation An intense low pressure system has moved away from New South Wales coast overnight. A strong high pressure system near the Bight will promote warmer and mostly fine conditions as it drifts slowly east during the weekend, reaching the Tasman Sea by late Sunday. A weak cold front is forecast to cross southern parts of the state mid-week, although it appears unlikely to generate much rainfall. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayThe chance of showers in the southeast, mainly in the afternoon. Possible early snow on the Alps. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Early frost patches on the tablelands. Southeast to southwesterly winds. Dangerous surf conditions along the central and northern coasts.Sunday 14 OctoberThe chance of showers near the coast, more likely in the north. Fine and mostly sunny inland. Early frost about the tablelands. Light winds inland, tending northeast to southeasterly near the coast.Monday 15 OctoberFine apart from the chance of early showers about the far north coast. Partly cloudy. Light winds in the northeast, tending northeast to northwesterly elsewhere.Tuesday 16 OctoberThe chance of showers developing across the southern border districts, otherwise fine.
